Assistance to Firefighters Grant Closing May 20 2009!

Don’t let an opportunity for grant monies pass your department by!  Did you know that ANY non-profit fire department and non-affiliated EMS department is eligible to apply for the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program (AFG)?  Run by FEMA, and overseen by the Department of Homeland Security, the AFG program’s main mission is to “provide financial assistance directly to fire departments and non-affiliated EMS organizations to enhance their capabilities with respect to fire and fire related hazards.”  Because of this, FREE MONEY is available for your department and it’s easier to receive funding than you think. Deccan's CAD Analyst and ADAM continue to DEFEND department's budgets!

Budget Defense and The Chula Vista Fire Department

Budgets are tight and Deccan International’s CAD Analyst and ADAM can really help provide a compelling case to your department’s city as to why money should not be cut out of your city’s Emergency Services Budget.  Deccan wants to help your department’s budget from getting slashed in and because of this we are teaming up with Fire Rescue International and Fire Chief Dave Hanneman of Chula Vista Fire Department to help get the word out.

Chief Hanneman will be speaking on behalf of Deccan at the “Weathering the Economic Storm” seminar being held during FRI on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 and Thursday, August 27, 2009.  Chief Hanneman will be addressing how CAD Analyst and ADAM were used in his budget defense presentations and how he approached his city council.  Although Chief Hanneman is a new user of CAD Analyst and ADAM, being appointed as Fire Chief of Chula Vista in November 2008, he became a quick supporter of the budget defense applications after seeing the software’s power.

Chief Hanneman has reported, “Deccan’s ADAM gave our department the ability to visually demonstrate to council the negative implications of reductions.”  Using Deccan’s ADAM, Chula Vista Fire has fended off 2 levels of reductions including brownouts and station closures associated with budget cuts.  He has been able to show Chula Vista’s city council how far department performance would veer off course with 1710 standards.   Chief Hanneman is now working with Deccan’s ADAM to explore incorporating Advanced Life Support on 3 engines within the department and looking into how performance will improve with this change.

Please stay stunned for more information regarding Deccan’s participation in the “Weathering the Economic Storm” seminar will be held Fire Rescue International.
