Deccan clients use Deccan’s predictive analysis tool ADAM to go from opinion-based decisions to data-driven decisions helping to improve operations.
“In today’s environment you don’t just say, ‘Hey, I need more people. You’ve got to prove it and that’s where data comes in. About five years ago, we saw the need to add some form of extra resource because our call volume was growing between 8 and 10 percent per year. By putting our data into ADAM, this allowed us to add personnel to address the rising call load and place resources precisely where they were needed.” – Tom Clemo, Deputy Chief, Santa Monica Fire Department
“We use Deccan for festivals and road closures, different events that require we modify our responses. We also use it to make proposals on growth or changes in the make-up of our community. We can predict farther into future using predictive modeling to address problems with development.” – Jim Hartman, Former Battalion Chief – Planning and Research, Rochester Fire Department

Stewart McGehee, Former EMS Division Manager, Oakland Fire Department
Oakland uses LiveMUM in the Emergency Operations Center to allow for quick situational awareness of what’s happening in the city.
“Our dispatchers manually managed move-ups like a Ouija Board – they would move pieces off of our board to show ambulance coverage throughout our county. When we began using LiveMUM, there was resistance from dispatch and field staff. They thought their old way of dispatching was better, but once we evaluated the data, they were able to see how well it worked. All in all, we were able to reduce the number of move-ups by 40 percent and improve our response time by over 2 percent.” – Brad Mason, Deputy Chief, Johnson County EMS, Kansas
“In March through November of 2019, utilizing LiveMUM we made 745 move-up executions. In the year prior over the same time period, we showed 962 move-ups – that’s a 23% savings in move-up executions.” – William Pigeon, Assistant Fire Chief, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District

Some of our stations won’t be able to access some areas of their district due to blocked roadways and streets. With BARB, we now have the ability to plan move-ups and alternate routes for our apparatus and equipment to take in order to provide the adequate response needed.” – Ronald Vaughn, GIS Supervisor, Dallas Fire-Rescue
“The end result was that we went from 3,100 response zones down to 729 response zones, which was much easier to manage and maintain. With that, we have response zones that accurately provide us with an initial response zone that our companies can go to, as well as accurate first due maps, which our companies can use for all of their responses.” – Daniel Curran, Lieutenant, Rochester Fire Department
